A “man’s” choker made of ancient carnelian agate beads: some Tibetan, akin to rare pema-raka, some others found in Mauritania and all of them of short cylinder shape, strung on a waxed cotton string with very old, nicely patinated and calibrated African coconut shell heishi.

A choker made of very old silver beads from Rajasthan, in Northwest India. Each of the beads was individually shaped by hammering the high-grade metal sheet over a preformed bronze anvil, and then the collars were soldered to their ends. They are strung on a thick leather thong and secured with a sterling silver handmade Indian clasp.
The necklace is 41 cm. long (16 5/8") and a typical bead 10x10 mm.
A choker made of seventeen pendant beads -- considered auspicious in Rajasthan, where they come from -- strung on a thick leather thong wrapped in colored thread in the traditional way, and fastened with a handmade indian clasp.
